If you have started reading the Bible with us (or would like to join in) contact Pastor Amanda. She has put together a group of readers to help keep us all connected as we read through Scripture this year, and she’d love to have you in it! We will talk about the readings to this point, and discuss ways we might collaborate in our reading and understanding of the text as we move through the year.

Galilee will once again welcome author John A. Beck, Ph. D. during Sunday Adult Education hour at Galilee. Professor Beck is a renowned biblical scholar who is a frequent visitor to the Holy Land. He is a wonderful and gifted storyteller who has shared his faith and connected his knowledge of biblical stories and geography with many audiences.
February 15 @ 10:15am: Archaeological discoveries in the Holy Land can grow our
understanding of God’s Word. But not all reported “discoveries” are of the same quality. This study will introduce the topic of archaeology in the Holy Land and
distinguish discoveries which have merit from those we should treat with greater suspicion. In these sessions, we
will offer a definition of archaeology. We will outline the method of investigation which produces the most credible
results. We will consider the limitations on what archaeology can do for Bible readers. And we will explore examples of archaeological discoveries that have shaped our understanding of sacred texts.
February 22 @ 10:15am: For those of us whose view of archaeology was shaped by Indiana Jones movies, we may equate this work with swashbuckling bravado. Archaeology in the Holy Land rarely looks like that. In this study, we will explore the ways in which archaeologists work in this sacred space and weigh how their conclusions may impact our reading of the Bible.
In 2025 he presented "What Can I Know about Heaven from Earth?" at Galilee. Heaven is our eternal home. But popular, well-meaning pictures of heaven often conflict with what the pictures of the Bible paints of this place. In this study, we explored a portion of what the Bible teaches about our future in heaven by using the things we know from earth.
