October - "The Gifts of Grief" Sermon Series at Galilee
October 4 & 5: Precarity | We will begin this series with a look at how our lives are precarious. “Precarious” means “uncertain – subject to potential collapse.” It also comes from an older Latin word that meant, “obtained through prayer.” We will sit with King Hezekiah and a Psalmist of the Old Testament and with Mary and Martha, sisters of Lazarus, of the New Testament as we consider how our lives, just as their lives, are uncertain, and constantly obtained through entreaty to our God.

Celebration of 20th Anniversary of Prayer Shall Ministry
Please join us on Thursday, October 9th at 11:30am as we celebrate 20 years of creating Prayer Shawls & blessing newly created shawls during the Midweek "Go Getters'" Service. The Prayer Shawl ministry has provided hundreds of shawls to people that were in need of a tangible sign of God’s love, mercy, peace, and grace. The shawls have been distributed all over the world!
Following the Service a special lunch will be provided! We are asking that you sign up ahead of time so that we will know the proper amount of food that needs to be ordered from the Olive Garden for our luncheon! Retirement Celebration for Karen Streight | Sun, Oct 12
Our dear friend and Financial Administrative Assistant, Karen Streit, has announced her retirement after over 22 years of employment at Galilee. Please join us as we say "Thank You & Godspeed" to Karen following worship on Sunday, October 12th. We will have a cake reception in the Gathering Place with time to congratulate Karen on her upcoming retirement.
Karen, we are grateful beyond words for all of the work you have done for us here. Thank you so much for your loyal service at Galilee and we wish you every blessing in your next chapter!

Galilee will hold a congregational meeting following worship (10:15 am) for the purposes of electing leaders for the coming year. Please join the membership of Galilee as we pray for all who are willing to serve.
There will be no Christian Education on October 19th
(no Adult Education Hour or Sunday School, so all may participate in the Congregational Meeting).
